Lake Powell Cleanup

The Lake Powell Wreck Cleanup project is an effort to reclaim sunken boats and planes from the bottom and shoreline of Lake Powell. The temporary low water conditions have exposed many of these boats making for optimal conditions for reclamation. Working together the National Park Service, Friends of Lake Powell and Cross International Search and Recovery have assembled a team of volunteers to begin work in May. The project is expected to take nearly two months and will recover between 50 and 100 boats and at least one plane.
